Delete your LocalTap account

LocalTap customers can delete their account directly from within the LocalTap app. This page explains how to request account deletion and what happens to your data.

How to delete your account

  1. Open the LocalTap customer app.
  2. Go to the Profile section.
  3. Select Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation information carefully.
  5. Confirm that you want to permanently delete your account.

Once confirmed, your account deletion request will be processed by LocalTap.

What data is deleted

When your customer account is deleted, we aim to remove or anonymise personal data associated with your LocalTap customer account, including:

  • Your customer profile information.
  • Your account email address and personal account details.
  • Your saved offers and followed businesses.
  • Your customer app preferences where linked to your account.
  • Your push notification token where linked to your account.

Booking and redemption history

Some booking or redemption records may need to be retained in a limited form where required for security, audit, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance or business reporting.

Where possible, retained records will be minimised or anonymised so they are no longer directly linked to your customer profile.

Data we may retain

We may retain certain information for a limited period where necessary, including:

  • Records required to comply with legal, tax or accounting obligations.
  • Security logs and audit records used to protect LocalTap and its users.
  • Records relating to disputes, misuse, fraud prevention or enforcement of our terms.
  • Support correspondence where needed to evidence or manage a request.

Retained data is kept only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose.

How long deletion takes

Account deletion is initiated immediately after confirmation within the app. Some backup, audit or legal records may be retained for a limited period where required.
