LocalTap is operated by LocalTap Technologies Ltd. LocalTap helps customers discover local offers, updates, events and booking experiences from participating businesses, and helps businesses manage their activity through the LocalTap Merchant app.

• Customer activity – such as saved offers, redemptions, bookings, followed businesses and app interactions.

• Uploaded content – such as offer images, update images and other business content submitted through LocalTap.

• Provide and operate the LocalTap customer and merchant apps.
• Authenticate users and protect accounts.
• Show customers nearby offers, updates, venues and booking experiences.
• Allow businesses to create, edit and manage offers, updates, bookings and business information.
• Process QR code redemptions and related activity.
• Send push notifications about relevant app activity, such as bookings, offers and business updates.
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
• Maintain security, prevent misuse and improve app reliability.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. App permissions

• Location – used in the customer app to show nearby local content.
• Camera – used in the merchant app for QR code scanning.
• Photos or image uploads – used where businesses upload images for offers, updates or profiles.
• Notifications – used to send relevant app alerts.
• Calendar – used where users choose to save events or bookings to their calendar.
• Face ID – used only where optional biometric authentication is enabled on the device.

You can manage app permissions through your device settings.

We process personal information where necessary to provide the LocalTap service, where you have given consent, where we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving the service, or where required by law.

We do not sell personal data.

Businesses are responsible for ensuring they have the rights to upload and publish any content they submit to LocalTap, including images, descriptions, offers, updates and event information.

Content submitted by businesses may be visible to customers in the LocalTap app.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security and support our business operations.

Customers can delete their LocalTap customer account directly within the LocalTap app using the account deletion feature available in Profile settings.

Merchant account holders may request deletion of their LocalTap Merchant account using the merchant account deletion process available on our website.

Some information may be retained for a limited period where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, maintain security, or enforce our agreements.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data.
